Fresno TNR Launches Humane Pilot Program with EagleShield Pest Control to Help Community Cats
FRESNO, CA — Fresno TNR is proud to announce a groundbreaking partnership with EagleShield Pest Control to launch a pilot program that prioritizes humane, community-based solutions for managing feral and free-roaming cats in Fresno.
This innovative partnership will ensure that community cats encountered by EagleShield technicians are not harmed or removed inhumanely but instead referred to Fresno TNR’s trap-neuter-return (TNR) program. Cats will be humanely trapped, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and returned to their home territories, preventing population growth while promoting coexistence.
Under the pilot program:
Fresno TNR will provide training and guidance to EagleShield field staff on identifying, safely reporting, and managing community cat colonies.
EagleShield will refer clients to Fresno TNR when feral cats are discovered during service calls.
Fresno TNR will coordinate humane trapping and transport for spay/neuter and vaccination.
Cats will be returned to their original location, ensuring they no longer reproduce or contribute to nuisance behaviors.
This program is a model for how animal welfare organizations and pest control companies can work together to address community concerns while protecting animal lives. Fresno TNR and EagleShield hope this pilot program will serve as a template for broader cooperation with other pest management companies, property managers, and public institutions across the Central Valley.
